DeMarcus Cousins made drastic improvements as a defender last season under Mike Malone’s tutelage, but as a big guy who jumps at people looking to dunk the ball as hard as possible, sometimes you have to take one right on the chin. DeMarcus did just that tonight in the Kings’ second preseason game of the year against the Phoenix Suns.
Journeyman Jon Leuer got Boogie in his sights and didn’t flinch – he simply rose up and threw the hammer down on the Kings’ All-Star. It was great stuff, and the type of thing Leuer has made relatively commonplace in his well-traveled career. Casual fans might not know the former Wisconsin big man’s game, but you can bet Kings coaches did.
